President William Ruto on Sunday cracked ribs when he attended the Akorino National Conference in Nakuru.

Ruto was responding to some women's group that had inquired if they could pay him a visit at State House for supper.

"One of the women said they want to come for supper. Sasa hapo kwa supper ndio kuna shida kidogo. Unajua hicho ni chakula cha jioni na pale State House hakua mahali pa kulala," he said.

"Naona tubadilishe ikue lunch ndio nimalizane na nyinyi mapema na niwapange vizuri," President Ruto said amidst laughter.

He then turned to the men saying it was like they wanted to be part of the delegation saying that a woman should not go somewhere without the man.

"Ama mliskia ni jioni mkasema hii mambo ya jioni hapana. Sasa nimebadilisha imekua lunch. Bado mko na shida, si wamama wanaeza kunitembelea bila wazee? " he paused as the crowd burst into laughter.

He further recalled an event where they gathered at Kasarani Stadium former President Uhuru Kenyatta to pray for the nation.

"Let me take this chance to appreciate all of you for your prayers and we will stand with you the same way you did with us. You have asked about going to Kiambu next time and since it is close to Nairobi I will come early. Kwa hivyo mjipange vizuri si mmeskia eti mapema ndio best? Nitafika mapema," Ruto said.
