A section of residents in five counties across the country will go without power on Sunday.
Kenya Power has announced that it will have scheduled power interruption for maintenance in parts of Nairobi, Kiambu, Nyeri, Kakamega and Uasin Gishu.
Kenya Power said the scheduled outage will be effected from 7am to 5pm in some of the areas.
Kenya Power said in a notice Saturday evening it plans to carry out system maintenance in parts of Nairobi county within Parklands, Westlands, Baba Dogo and Muratina Road.
In the Parklands and Westlands areas, some of those to be affected include Westgate, Safaricom House, Sarit, Telkom Kenya, Sankara Hotel, Bidwood Suites, New Rehema House Western Heights, Sky Park Plaza, Kipro Centre, Garden Properties, Bishop Properties and Park Plaza Ltd.
Stima Lane, Blue Ridge, Westgate, 3rd Parklands Avenue, Mpaka Road, Citam Church, Ngao Road, White Field Place, School Lane, Gulam's Mohammed, Mwanzi Road, General Mathenge Drive, Peponi Road, Howard Humphreys and Portfolio Ltd will also be affected.
The scheduled maintenance in Kiambu will affect Farmers Choice Factory area.
The businesses to be affected include Palak Steel Mills, Carbacid Factory, Kijabe Boys, Kijabe Hospital, Uplands Police Station, Nyambare, Githironi, Nyamweru, Murengeti, Mutosi, Kinyogori, Rukuma, Gitithia, Kimende, Lari, Magina, Kinale, Soko Mjinga, Kamae, Mathore, Kijabe, Escarpment, Kabunge, Kijabe and adjacent customers.
In Kihunguro and Dr Mattress areas, businesses which include Kihunguro, Wonders Church, Gichoya Water, Bederine Hotel, Mark Hotel, Imani House, Plains View Hospital, Kihunguro Mosque, Ruiru Star, Rubis Petrol, Shell Kihunguro, Listar Supermarket, Dr. Mattress, Agri Bakery, Hotpoint and adjacent customers will be affected.
In Kakamega, customers in Bungatsi and Musanda areas such as Buriya Mutoma, Butende and adjacent customers will be affected.
In Uasin Gishu, the maintenance will affect parts of Sokomoko and Sinendet centre.
Customers to be affected include Sokomoko, Muyuki, Mukuyu, Mkuyonyi Primary, Maragusi, Makutano Market, Evona Mathara Dispensary and Primary, Lumama Secondary, Ivona Centre and Primary, Sinendet Centre, Sakam Quarry and Lower Kipkaren Centre.
Upper Kipkaren, Nyengeilel Secondary School, Nyengeilel Centre, Murugusi Dispensary, Murugusi Primary, Murugusi Centre, Musembe Market, Chepsaita, Magut Centre, Ngayu Centre Psorungai, Lumakanda Centre, Lumakanda Secondary School and Lumakanda Hospital will also be affected.
In Nyeri, parts of Karatina Town and Ihwagi will be affected and they include Karatina Girls High School, Karatina Police Station, Jamii Hospital, Karatina Subvounty Hospital, Karatina Jua Kali Industry, Ragati Slaughter, Super Loaf, Mathira Dairy and Karatina University Town Campus.
KIE, Saigon, Karatina Railways Station, NHC Karatina, Maguna Supermarket, Muthua Estate, Karindundu Estate, Salama Millers, Mathai Supermarket, Safaricom and Airtel Boosters, Kiaritha-Ini Secondary School will be affected.
Ihwagi market, Gathumbi Village, Gikumbo, Gaikuyu, Gathehu, Itundu, Giakaibei, Kanjuri, Kiangengi, Gitima-Ini, Kagochi and Gatondo markets will also be affected.
Gatondo Secondary School, Kariki TBC, Giakaibei Secondary School, Ndumanu Village, Kanjuri High School, Giagathege TBC, Kianganga Village, Kiunjugi TBC, Kariambi TBC, Gitima-Ini Booster, Kianjiru-Ini TBC, Ragati Forest Station, Mathaithi and adjacent customers will also be affected.
