Nairobi County is thriving there is no course for alarm, Governor, Johnson Sakaja has said.
"It is a work in progress but we will make it better,"he said.
Speaking during the UDA party delegates conference for the forthcoming party chairman elections at the Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday, Sakaja said the county is working much better.
He said for the the first time, the county government has collected the highest revenue within two years of his governance.
"For the first time in Nairobi county,mwaka wa kwanza tumeokota revenue zaidi ya all six years before us,tumeokota hata kuliko NMS (Nairobi Metropolitan Services)," he said.
"As we speak today, in the second financial year, with a month and some few days to spare, we have already collected 11.4 billion."
The county boss also said he has managed to build 10 kitchens in the county in line with the county's school feeding programme.
He highlighted that seven more kitchens have already been launched and are under construction and at 50 per cent completion.
"Over 200,000 children in Nairobi wanakula kwa shillingi tano,"he said.
He highlighted that since the school feeding programme was launched, there has been a 24 per cent population increase in school-going children.
Additionally, Sakaja said he has disbursed bursaries worth Sh1.88 billion within his first year in office in comparison to all his predecessors combined.
The governor also said all hospitals within the county are fully stocked with medication.
