President William Ruto on Monday visited flood victims in Kiamaiko, Nairobi County.

The President visited the area to assess the flood situation and check on victims.

Ruto said the government stands with the victims of floods across the country.

He said the government will supply enough food and bedding besides offering a safe settlement to the 40,000 displaced households.

President William Ruto accompanied by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and Interior PS Raymond Omollo when he visited Kiamaiko to assess the flood situation on April 6, 2024.

"We have also allocated Sh1 billion to rebuild schools so that our children can resume their studies in good time," he said.

The President commended the residents of Nairobi who voluntarily heeded the government's call to move out of riparian reserves.
