Man found dead in Dandora house after alleged assault

Police are looking for an assailant behind the fatal assault of a 41-year-old man whose body was found in his house in Dandora, Nairobi.

Police said the body of Gregory Odhiambo Were was found in his house long after he had died.

He is said to have been assaulted on April 14 sustaining injuries in the body but he did not report the matter or seek medical help.

The deceased went to his house and slept but did not wake up for days until three days later when the body was discovered.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe. An investigation to establish the identity of the assailant is ongoing.

Elsewhere the body of a 24-year-old bicycle repairer was found in a kiosk along Manyanja Road in Umoja.

The cause of his death remains known, police said.

The body had started decomposing when it was discovered on Wednesday evening indicating it had been there for days.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

Along the Nairobi-Eldoret highway the body of one Dennis Kiplagat, 22 was found on the roadside.

The body had injuries in the head, neck and chest. Police said they suspect the man was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

This is because there were no signs of struggle and bleeding at the scene. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

In Kinango, Kwale county, the body of a man was found along the Gwasneni-Iviwabila road.

The body had multiple injuries inflicted by a sharp object. The body was moved to Coast General Hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.

Meanwhile, police are looking for a mob that stoned to death a man on suspicion of being a thief in Makongeni, Thika.

Police term mob lynching criminal and want all suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.

The man identified as Emmanuel Simiyu was stoned near Chania Primary.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending investigations.
