The government on Monday opened a new Huduma Centre in Laikipia East.

It's the 53rd Huduma Centre to be opened across the country.

Huduma Kenya partnered with NG-CDF Laikipia East to birth the new Makutano, Laikipia East Huduma Centre.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presided over the opening of the new model co-funded Huduma Centre as part of the plan to expand the centres to the subcounty level across all 290 constituencies.

“Huduma Centres across the country have revolutionised how the public interacts with various government agencies at both the national and county levels,” Gachagua said.

“The Ruto Administration remains committed to collaborating with Members of Parliament to establish Huduma Centres in all 290 constituencies nationwide," he affirmed.

The strategic partnership that birthed the new centre saw the Laikipia East NG-CDF cover the construction of the facility while the Huduma Kenya Secretariat was tasked with branding, provision of ICT infrastructure, deployment of services and management of the day-to-day operations of the Huduma Centre.

Huduma Kenya was established on April 4, 2014, with the sole mandate of providing efficient and citizen-centric services across various channels.

Huduma Kenya has four service delivery platforms that serve an average of 60,000 citizens daily.

The 53 Huduma Centre branches offer access to 134 physical and over 16,000 online services.

Huduma Contact and Tele-Counselling Centre on the other hand provides assistance and guidance to citizens through the call number 1919.

Huduma Mashinani Outreaches take services directly to communities while Huduma Electronic and Mobile facilitate digital access to government services.
