Suspected thugs are reported to have broken into Ministry of Agriculture offices at Kilimo House in Nairobi and stole crucial equipment.

Police who visited the scene on Sunday, January 28, evening said five computer CPUs were stolen from the accounts and communications offices.

The team of detectives suspect an inside job because surveillance cameras had been switched off at the time of the incident.

It was established the break-in happened on the first floor of the building at an unknown time.

This was after the said thieves removed parts of the window where they gained entry.

The guards recorded statements as the probe into the office breaking went on.

Police suspect the thieves targeted specific information in the computers with a motive.

The scene was dusted as part of the probe into the incident.

No arrest or recovery has been made so far and detectives are pursuing the matter, police said.

Elsewhere in Ramasha, Geteri village, Kisii, police recovered 82 bales of mosquito nets from a private home in a raid.

The mosquito nets are suspected to be government property and marked for distribution in the ongoing malaria campaign.

Police say they are investigating the recovery and no arrest was made.

It is not clear why the property was kept at the home.
