Along the major streets, the women carrying placards sang in unison against the vice that they said should stop.

At the Kisumu Law courts where they finished their match, they handed their petition to the Women Rep.

Caroline Ruca read the petition and presented it to Ruth on behalf of all the organisations involved in the match.

Ruth while receiving the petition, called for an end to the endless killing of women across the country.

She said with this kind of petition, it means that all the demands that they want and the change they want from the Gender CS are well written.

"It's high time we look at this issues not by begging the President, Parliament, or the governor but by putting the right people in offices to effect this change," she said.

Betty Okero from CSO Network noted that that to be in a relationship and say no is not a licence to kill, murder, disable and be brutalised among others.

She said they have started the walk to say enough is enough.

"We have started this march and we will continue with it, we shall shout, screen and do whatever it takes for people to realize that women's bodies are not supposed to be beaten," she said.

Grave Edward, Founder of Chadala CBO noted that they cannot continue living in fear.

"We all have a right to life regardless of our gender, sexual orientation, colour, race ,profession etc! We demand for stern action against the perpetrators of violence targeting women and girls in our diversity. Enough is Enough," she said
