Officers from the Directorate of Criminals Investigations (DCI) have arrested two people selling illegal milk powder in Nairobi.

DCI said the two men were arrested through actionable intelligence on Wednesday.

The DCI managed to recover 408 bags of the contraband goods each weighing 25 kilogrammes. The contraband milk powder was in bulk at the site.

DCI said the two will face charges of importing dairy produce without a valid licence issued by the Kenya Dairy Board and being in possession of uncustomed goods and failing to pay import levy.

“A crackdown that started last week saw five more suspects arrested in Eastleigh and several illegal goods recovered,” DCI reported.

DCI said officers will continue to flush out more criminals who shall be arraigned in court in the fight against illicit businesses.
