Happy birthday kinara wangu! Karua celebrates Raila as he turns 79

Politicians from the Opposition wing have joined hands to shower praises to Azimio leader Raila Odinga as he celebrates his 79th birthday.

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua was the first among the Azimio la Umoja principals to convey the message on her X page.

“Happy birthday kinara wangu Raila Odinga. May you have many happy returns to serve,” she wrote.

The ODM party in which Raila serves as the party leader prayed for his good health and luck as he celebrates his birthday.

“We join the nation and the world in praying for our party leader. As a party, we are proud to be a part of this amazing journey of excellence and success. Happy birthday sir."

Homabay Senator Moses Kajwang said Raila’s love for the country and the people is unmatched in Kenyan history.

“Even when wounded you always choose dialogue where others would have chosen insurrection. We pray God grants you health, strength and wisdom to guide and give us hope of a better Kenya,” he said.

It was yet unclear if there was any ceremony planned by the Opposition leaders to celebrate the leader.

Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi wrote: "I celebrate you. You lifted me into leadership. May you live long to see all your dreams and aspirations accomplished".

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna said: "Sisi ni wale tulibarikiwa tukakujua na ukatujua. Asante kwa yote unazidi kulifanyia taifa letu. Mungu akulinde na akupe maisha marefu".
