In the world of politics, strange things happen. A first-term legislator who is feeling threatened politically on the ground has resorted to a rather unique defence mechanism. Corridors has it that he travels to the constituency every weekend to attend public events. And, it is not because he is genuinely concerned about the needs of the people. His competitors have started regrouping with the mission to ‘finish’ him, accusing him of being a serial liar. He has been making false pledges. It appears he may not ‘survive’ in the next election if he does not put his act together now and deliver on his promises.
