The Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday set ablaze over 670 Kilogrammes of bhang in Marsabit.

DCI said the move followed a directive from a Marsabit court which supervised the destruction of the 152Kgs of bhang 

Police said the 152 kg of bhang was under the custody of DCI Moyale and 522 kg from Moyale law courts.

"Over 670 Kilogrammes of cannabis sativa have today been destroyed in Marsabit county, following a court decision," DCI said.

Police said that Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives around the country remain on high alert to ensure that the continued war against drugs continues to bear the much-desired fruits.

The PS spoke during the launch of the National Survey Report on the status of drugs and substance use.

The report by Nacada showed that the number of Kenyans using bhang has increased over the years. 

The report shows one in every 26 males and one in every 333 females are currently using cannabis.
