Kenya Lionesses will be boosted by the arrival of Sevens skipper Grace Adhiambo for their match against Kazakhstan on Saturday in the WXV 3 tournament in Dubai.

Adhiambo alongside Phoebe Akinyi,  Judith Akumu,  Terry Ayesa, and Sharon Auma joined the squad on Tuesday from Tunisia after leading the Sevens side to a second-place finish at the Africa Cup-cum-Olympic qualifier.

In Dubai, Kenya lost their opening match 32-0 to Spain and assistant coach Murunga believes the five players will be ideal reinforcements for the match against the Asian side on Saturday.

“It's good to have them in the squad for this match. They will have two days to train and acclimatize to the condition and they will be available for selection ahead of the second match,” added Murunga.

The tactician observed that the five bring experience and big game temperament which will be vital for the fixtures against Kazakhstan and Colombia.

“ The four players have a lot of experience and they will be vital for our next two games, where we will be going for nothing than a win,” added Murunga.

Murunga revealed the defeat to Spain was due to the misfiring setpiece against a quality outfit.

"They really bullied us up front and two of their tries came from the rolling maul. We have to learn how to defend it going forward and at the same time improve on our discipline to ensure we don't concede penalties," he noted.

The former Kenya Sevens and under-20 coach said they must improve their attack.

“We had our opportunities which we failed to capitalise on. So in the course of this week's training, we are looking at improving our strike rate when we enter the red zone,” said Murunga.

Skipper Knight Otuoma said the lessons learned from the defeat to Spain will aid them in their push to get wins in the next two matches.

"It was a tough day for us but we learned our lessons and we hope to be better in the next two matches and improve in all facets of play."
