Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko on Sunday joined President William Ruto in attending a church service at Uriri Technical Training Institute, Migori.
This is the first time the ODM Governor is physically present at an event graced by Ruto in his county.
Ruto was in Migori in March this year and Ayacko skipped the event saying he had not been invited to be part of President Ruto's scheduled meetings in Migori.
However, on Sunday the Governor received the President and walked side by side to the church service.
Other notable leaders in the service were Cabinet Secretaries Moses Kuria , Eliud Owalo, Susan Nakhumicha, Davis Churchir, Ezekiel Machogu among others.
Also Nyanza MPs were present in the church service.
President Ruto will spend his day in Migori country where he is set to commission Uriri Hospital, Uriri Constituency.
He will thereafter hold a meeting with farmers at Sony Sugar in Awendo Constituency.
Later in the afternoon, Ruto will also preside over the launch construction of affordable housing, Kuria West Constituency.
President William Ruto has geared up for a comprehensive development tour of the Nyanza region, which started on Friday, October 6, 2023.
His primary objective is to secure backing from counties that have historically supported Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition.
His earlier visit to Nyanza region was marred by controversy when certain leaders failed to accompany him to a church service, citing lack of invitation as the cause.
However, this visit was different whereby he was warmly welcomed by Governors from the region.
ODM Governors James Orengo ( Siaya), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay) and Anyang' Nyong'o (Kisumu) even accompanied President Ruto to launch various projects and speak to residents in various places.
