The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested two officials of the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC).

The two were arrested following investigations into a complaint that they demanded a financial advantage of Sh50,000 from the complainant as an inducement to reconnect the electricity supply which they had disconnected at the complainant’s property in Kawangware.

The complainant made a report to the EACC headquarters, which led to an investigation and the Commission was able to verify the information.

It then conducted an operation leading to the arrest of the suspects while receiving the demanded amount on Wednesday.

They held at Kilimani Police Station and on Thursday returned to EACC Integrity Centre Police Station where they are being processed.

The Commission is looking to refer against them, the charges of bribery offences contrary to the law.
