National Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung'u

Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning Njuguna Ndung’u is set to appear before the National Assembly to answer to several questions from the lawmakers.

In a statement released by the National Assembly, the CS will be appearing before the MPs to respond to various questions concerning the Treasury.

Also set to appear before MPs on Wednesday at 3 pm is Peninah Malonza, CS Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage.

Questions set to be asked by the MPs include recruitment of revenue services assistants by the Kenya Revenue Authority, the current annual status of the balance sheet of Nzoia Sugar Company, arrears owed to political parties in financial years 2016-17 and 2022-23 and the decline in US dollars reserved in the country.

MPS also wants the CS to give out directives on the proposed privatisation plan which includes the sale of South Nyanza Sugar Company nuclear land.

The refusal of cash payments by certain business establishments, delayed disbursement of funds to the National Youth Service, the impact of import fees levied on raw materials under the Crops (Oils and Nuts)Regulations 2020 and the delay in payment of pensions to retired teachers;

MPs also expect the CS to outline the benefits of the government-to-government deal Kenya entered with gulf countries in March for procurement of fuel on credit.
