A carpenter died after he fell from the roof of a house he was repairing in the Industrial Area, Nairobi.
Humphrey Nyaleso Isanjili, 38, was roofing a go-down along Enterprise Road when he slipped and fell head-first.
Police and witnesses said the incident happened Tuesday evening.
He was rushed to the Mater Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Isanjili was among the workers at the site and was to be paid Sh1,000 for the day’s work, officials said.
Police who visited the scene said the body had head injuries with blood oozing from the mouth, nose, ears and eyes.
The body was found in a car that had rushed him to the hospital, police said.
Police say they are investigating the tragedy. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the death of a man whose decomposed body was discovered in his house in Mwiki, Nairobi.
Neighbours said they did not know the deceased as he was new to the house where the body was found.
Police said they had to break into the house where the body was lying in a prone position.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification, autopsy and further probe.
Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the incident and if the man died out of natural causes.
Police look for man over death of one-month-old baby
Officers are also looking for a man over the death of his one-month-old baby in the California area in Nairobi.
Police said the man is missing after the baby was found dead in their house on Tuesday morning.
The child’s mother told police she had a quarrel with the husband over the child who had fallen sick before she left the house on Monday night.
She said she came back on Tuesday morning and found him missing with the body of the child lying on the bed.
Police say they are yet to know if the child died out of the sickness or was killed.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.
Police handling the matter said they were yet to get the man for grilling to know the way forward on the death.
