Siaya United Democratic Alliance Coordinator Charles Owino affirms that President William Ruto is in control and has not lost focus.

Speaking on a morning talk show, Owino insisted that the President is still in charge, despite the ongoing controversial remarks by some of his cabinet secretaries and economic advisors.

According to Owino, sometimes being appointed to certain positions is like being given a chance to showcase your capability, and failing would be akin to self-sabotage.

"You know sometimes you can be given a rope to hang yourself so that you don’t go back and claim that I helped this government to be in place, yet I have not been considered, "Owino said.

Asked if he would want those making reckless remarks sacked, he said President Ruto is intelligent enough to know what to do with them.

''Whether he sacks them or keeps them I believe he is intelligent enough and knows what he is doing," Owino stated.

Owino's remarks on whether anyone should be sacked come days after Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Sunday called on President Ruto to sack some of his senior officials over their remarks on the rising cost of fuel.
