Cabinet Secretary for Lands and Housing Zachariah Njeru has issued a stern warning to land grabbers, saying he is coming for them.

Speaking on Wednesday morning at Spice FM, the CS warned those sitting on grabbed land that their days were numbered.

"We have the data and during this process of digitalisation we are picking those grabbed lands," Njeru said.

The digitalisation of land is an initiative by the  Ministry aimed at developing the National Land Information Management System (NLIMS) to enhance the security of land records, improve accessibility and cut down the cost of land transactions.

Njeru pointed out that the Ministry of Lands has files that clearly distinguish between public and private lands and soon all the public lands will be reclaimed.

"We will be telling the individuals to give back what belongs to the public since it has always been clear from the past that grabbing public land is against the laws set," The CS said.

He further reiterated that reclaiming public land is not a matter of negotiating with land grabbers but demanding what rightfully belongs to the public.

Njeru called on those who had acquired public land legally to come out so that due process could be followed.
