Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma has said the suspension of Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) Director General Ezra Chiloba is a big loss to the organization.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Kaluma said Chiloba is a competent person who should be given a chance to contribute to national progress.

"I don't know the reason for the suspension of Ezra Chiloba but it is a big loss for the Communication Authority.  This is a sharp young Kenyan who should be allowed to apply his competencies for national progress," Kaluma said.

An internal memo by board chairlady Mary Mungai communicated the suspension of Chiloba on Monday following a board meeting.

As a result, Christopher Wambua has been appointed as Acting Director General.

"Following a meeting of the Authority’s Board held on 18th September 2023, resulting in the suspension of the Director General, I am pleased to inform all staff of the appointment of Mr Christopher Wambua as a Director General in Acting Capacity effective today until further notice. I trust that you will accord him the necessary support," Mungai said

Before his appointment to CA, Chiloba had been sacked as Chief Executive Officer of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in October 2018.
