Police are looking for a gang that attacked and robbed a Citizen TV crew of their cameras and cash in Kibera slums, Nairobi.
The crew was Tuesday afternoon attacked and robbed as they were on duty in the slum.
The three staff members were shooting in Lindi when they were attacked by three gunmen who robbed them of their five mobile phones, two cameras and other valuables.
The crew were identified as Samuel Mwangi, Kairu Wachira and Ian Odhiambo.
They were on duty when they were attacked.
Police said three gunmen approached the crew and at gunpoint demanded cash and the equipment.
The gang then shot at one of the staff but the bullet missed him and hit a wall.
This prompted the crew to surrender.
One of them complained of trauma and was taken to hospital.
The gang escaped with the equipment. Police arrived at the scene and said they recovered a spent cartridge of 9mm.
No arrest was made so far but police said they are investigating the incident with to make arrests.
Meanwhile, police recovered a pistol from a suspect after a long chase in the slum.
A team of detectives who were on patrol in Lindi saw a group disperse on sighting police.
This prompted the police to keep an eye on them for almost an hour as they tried to escape.
One of the suspects jumped onto a motorcycle and tried to escape as police chased him.
They finally managed to arrest the suspect in the High-rise Langata area.
According to police, before the suspect was arrested, he was seen throwing something away and on searching the surrounding a Glock pistol Austia made with an empty magazine was recovered.
Police say they are pursuing more accomplices.
In Embakasi, a suspect was arrested and a shotgun with 27 bullets found on him.
Police said the suspect is a former soldier with the Kenya Defence Forces.
The rifle had a telescopic sight loaded on it.
Police said they also recovered a motorcycle from his house.
