Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has asked President William Ruto to stay focused on his mandate and ignore any distractions from detractors.
Kingi termed Ruto as a miracle president who rose from nothing to the pinnacle of the country's political leadership.
''You are a miracle president and therefore your presidency will be smooth,'' Kingi said.
Speaking during the interdenominational prayers at Sagana State Lodge, Kingi warned the president to be wary of his enemies to who are keen to frustrate his presidency.
''The same people who are yet to accept that the son of a nobody is the president of Kenya, are fighting you,'' he said.
According to Kingi, the political rivals whom he said unsuccessfully attempted to block Ruto, are behind the protests against his administration.
''The same people will place hurdles on the way. The recent happenings have nothing to do with the cost of living, in fact, the cost of living became worse during their time and they did not do anything,'' he said.
''They are using it as an excuse, since they can't believe that the son of a nobody is today the president of this country.''
Kingi insisted that the government is on the right track in addressing the cost of living through a lot of interventions.
