Journalists from across the globe have converged for a four-month media exchange program–the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) Program, by the China Public Diplomacy Association.

It involves the appreciation of China's culture and sharing untold stories with the world.

Moses Odhiambo of the Star Newspaper is among the 81 journalists from 69 countries who are taking part in the program.

The second cohort is slated to last four months, the mission being to immerse the journalists into Chinese affairs for a first-hand experience and taste of China.

CIPCC director Yu Lei told journalists that this year’s program “promises to broaden horizons and deepen understanding of China's remarkable development journey.”

He added that the exchange would enable the group to understand China’s history which spans over 4,000 years, and its distinct socio-political system that has seen the country flourish both economically and culturally since the era of civilization.

“We aspire to present participants with a positive and comprehensive perspective of China, highlighting its uniqueness and contributions to the global landscape,” Lei said.

During this fellowship, journalists will have the privilege of visiting significant cultural and developmental landmarks, allowing them to witness firsthand the essence of Chinese heritage and progress.

The journalists are drawn from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Central Eastern Europe.
