A suspect was arrested after he used a claw hammer to kill a man during a fight in Majengo slums, Nairobi.

The body of the man identified as Samuel was Tuesday found in a sewer line after the murder. It had an injury in the head, police said.

Police pursued a suspect and found him with a claw hammer that he used in attacking the victim.

Police plan to charge him with murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other processes.

Meanwhile, a gang raided a quarry and killed a guard on site at Mlolongo area, Machakos.

Witnesses told police about 20 thugs armed with crude weapons invaded Bizrock Group Limited quarry within Mlolongo where they attacked and killed a security guard who was on duty.

The guard identified as Jared Nyang'era Marita, 36, was hit in the head and died on the spot in the August 1 incident.

The attackers also tied his legs and hands.

The gang gained access to the site and stole three conveyor belts.

Another guard identified as Dickton Baraza was found tied with ropes but had no injury.

He alleged that the deceased screamed and struggled with some of the thugs.

A review of CCTV footage captured eight suspects gaining entry to the site and attacking the guards, police said.

Elsewhere, suspected thugs broke into offices at Kyamuendu secondary school, in Tala, Machakos County and stole property.

The gang accessed the principal's office, staffroom, food store, and common store.

The school watchmen were also injured by the about five men who raided the school on August 1 morning.

During the incident, the thugs made away with two bags of sugar, two bales of maize floor, two cartons of milk, 20 litres of cooking oil, a bale of salt, three dozen of steel wool, five boxes of the matchbox, a staffroom TV and CCTV server.

The injured victims were rushed to Kangundo level four hospital for treatment.

A hunt on the attackers is ongoing, police said.
