It was a dramatic scene as cult leader Paul Mackenzie's 28 co-accused protested in court as they shouted 'haki yetu'.
In a video seen by the Star, the individuals were seen shouting with their hands in the air as lawyer Wycliff Makasembo tried to cool them down.
"Tulieni nimeomba tafadhali, nimeomba," he told them on Tuesday.
The individuals were complaining of alleged harassment in custody.
They claimed that they were still sleeping on the floor and forced to wear prison attires even though they are yet to be convicted
After intervention from the lawyer, they obeyed his plea and stopped the shouting.
Others could be seen moving back to their seats.
Controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie and his 28 other co-accused individuals, were to return to Shanzu Court on Tuesday after having spent two months in custody.
Last month, the Shanzu court released Mackenzie’s wife Rhoda Maweu on Sh400,000 bond.
However, she was still expected back in court.
