Azimio Leader Raila Odinga now claims that it was the Kenya Kwanza faction that absconded the bi-partisan talks.

Raila spoke on Tuesday as he addressed the international media on the crisis currently facing the country.

“We’ve always been open to dialogue but we don’t want nusu mkate.” However, the other side absconded and went away," Raila said.

The ODM party leader was reminiscent of a time when President William Ruto called on him to call off the demos and sit down for bi-partisan talks.

Raila went ahead and called off the demos despite protests from some of his supporters.

"When the temperatures came down, Kenya Kwanza withdrew. Their members were not available for talks. They would say most of their members are out of the country," he said.

After this, Raila went ahead to declare the resumption of demos.

Further, he pointed out that Tanzania President Samia Suluhu also came to the country two weeks ago to mediate over the bi-partisan talks.

This information, however, was not public.

Raila said Suluhu did not mediate over the bi-partisan talks as she was left hanging.

"She was kept waiting. We were available but the other faction was not available. Suluhu spent two nights here but it was all in vain," Raila said.

But it is not only Suluhu who has tried to mediate over the talks. Raila claimed there have been more people who have tried to mediate the talks but Ruto has refused.

"I have said I am ready to sit with the people and discuss these issues. He is actually pretending and he is living in delusion that we don't have a crisis."

Raila insisted that Kenya is in a serious crisis that requires patriotism to resolve.
