The death toll from Azimio anti-government protests in Kisumu has risen to two.

This is according to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital CEO George Rae.

This comes after another patient succumbed while undergoing surgery at the facility.

He noted that 32 others have been admitted with gunshot wounds at the facility.

"We had about 35 people with gunshot wounds brought to the facility and currently about 32  of them are still undergoing treatment," he said.

On Wednesday, it was a running battle between police officers and locals in different areas within Lakeside City from early morning hours to late in the night.

According to a source who sought anonymity, some of the patients had gunshot wounds all over the body, others had in both legs and another was brought in with intestines out.

"There was one who had been shot in the mouth, back and even abdomen," claimed the source.
