Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri has challenged President William Ruto’s administration to hold to account leaders who looted from the government in the last regime.
Karauri in a statement on Saturday also urged Ruto to make leaders who perpetuated impunity in the retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government pay for their actions and decisions.
“If you do not hold to account the thieves of the previous regime. If you do not hold to account the impunity of the previous regime, you have no business being in the position you hold,” the said.
The MP further said the President should show Kenyans that as much as they are sweating to pay taxes, there are no individuals stealing it.
“I want a change from the culture that existed,” Karauri, who vied on an independent ticket said.
Karauri added that it was time for Kenya to unlock its economic potential.
The President has been clear on his stand against corruption and warned that all public officers implicated in corruption or face graft-related charges in court will have to step aside
Ruto declared that the war on graft was his to lead and that will be ruthless.
“I will take personal responsibility on accountability of public resources. No one will be allowed to steal public resources,” hr said during a burial ceremony on Kandara Constituency on May 19.
