Besieged Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has denied playing a role in the procurement of Sh1.12 million chair for his use.

Oduol, in a twist, wants the senate or other authorities to establish how the county spent the huge cash on the chair.

"I'm tongue-tied and shocked that we spent Sh1 million on such a standard chair," he said.

While insisting that he did not coerce county offices to procure the chair, Oduol shifted the blame to the county director of procurement and accounting officer for the procurement.

The DG told the Senate impeachment committee that the two officers should be held responsible.

"If indeed as has been alleged here, that Sh18 million was used to renovate my office without the same being budgeted for, then it is the head of procurement and accounting officer to take responsibility," he said.

On Wednesday, the MCAs claimed that Oduol coerced county officials to renovate and equip his office.

The ward reps claimed that Oduol caused the county to buy him a Sh1.12 million orthopaedic chair, Sh1 million Presidential table and Sh2 million to soundproof his office.
