Foreign investors wishing to invest in the country have been urged to take advantage of the prevailing conducive environment.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua yesterday said the Kenya Kwanza Administration has put in place the necessary measures to ensure all investors put in their money in the nation’s economy.

“This country is enjoying an administration that is focused and that has done away with bureaucracy and red tape to encourage investment,"  Gachagua said.

"All our agencies and our Cabinet Secretaries have clear and unequivocal instructions from the President not to subject investors to unnecessary bureaucracy and red tape."

The DP made the remarks during the AviaDev Africa Real Estate workshop at a Nairobi hotel.

Gachagua said they have eliminated bureaucratic tendencies that have for years frustrated potential investors.

Kenya, he said, is the destination of choice for many investors, emphasising the country’s lasting peace and stability in the region.

“We host the United Nations because of the peace and stability in the country,” he said.

“Labour is not expensive. We have a vibrant workforce with good work ethics. The Kenyan people are workaholics and take pride in their achievements.”

The Deputy President urged African airlines to diversify their sources of revenue to remain afloat in the 'space.'

With the rising cost of fuel and other challenges, Gachagua said they need to invest in the real estate sector.

"Airlines will continue to sink further into losses unless they explore innovative alternatives to complement the carrier revenue sources,” the DP said.

AviaDev Africa 2023 seeks to grow connectivity in Africa by ensuring sustainable partnerships in the aviation industry.

It is hosted by the Kenya Airports Authority.

Those who attended include Tourism CS Peninah Malonza and Principal Secretaries John Olotuaa and Mohamed Dhagar.

Kenya Airports Authority chairperson Caleb Kositany said hosting the event is part of their key and deliberate commitment to business growth through enhanced revenues and stakeholder partnerships.

“During this forum, KAA seeks to discuss what Kenya has to offer in terms of routes development potential, support Pan-Africanism and liberation of African skies,” he said.

"It also provides a forum for tackling emerging challenges for the aviation sector."
