Invest in your women without expectations - City man

"Let's agree that women are the prize, you give them Sh50 they multiply it."

In Summary
  • "If you have decided to invest in your woman, let's say paying for their school fees, do it wholeheartedly without expectations of her being with you forever, people outgrow each other, and that should be normalised," he said.
  • Eddy Wafula on the other hand says he cannot invest in his woman as he does not see a need for it.

The debate on how much is too much in matters of men investing in their women has been an endless one.

Mark Chege, a Nairobi city dweller, opines that investing in women can sometimes be an uphill task if one goes in with expectations of getting returns, which he says are not defined.

"Invest in your women, but without expectations, taking them on holidays, going on dates are just but bare minimums and shouldn't be considered as investments," he said.

However, Mark says if you invest in a woman with expectations of having a favour or money back, you will be very heartbroken.

"If you have decided to invest in your woman, let's say paying for their school fees, do it wholeheartedly without expectations of her being with you forever, people outgrow each other, and that should be normalised," he said.

Mark says investing in women includes contributing to their education, setting up businesses and fully supporting them in their life dreams.

"As a married man, investing in my wife is an equal advantage, when you fully empower a woman, your life will be very easy, she will not be swayed by small boys for just Sh2,500 as she knows her worth," he said.

The lawyer added that with the uncertainty of the world, losing jobs and unfortunate deaths, women have on many occasions stepped in without questions as they remember how one stood by them.

"Let's agree that women are the prize, you give them Sh50 they multiply it, I have invested in my wife and without a doubt I don't regret it," he added.

Eddy Wafula on the other hand says he cannot invest in his woman as he does not see a need for it.

"We all have our lives, we have been growing together apart, she accomplishes her things and I do from my end," he said.

For Wafula, he believes that he has fully invested in his woman, emotionally and does not stand on the financial bit.

"Not everything has to be about money, I love my wife and he knows, I have been supporting her emotionally and that has worked for us, even a home, all our bills are paid 50/50," he said.
