President William Ruto's address in an economic forum at Embu University on Friday had a light moment after the head of state revealed he had pocketed Sh100 misplaced by the owner.

Ruto while making his speech said he will use the amount to buy roasted maize since the owner was not forthcoming.

"There is someone who seems to have lost his sh1oo and I don't know the owner. Well, it seems it doesn't have an owner. I will have it. I will buy Mahindi choma on my way back," Ruto said.

The President's visit to Embu was to open a one-week mega expo scheduled to run from May 26 to May 30.

The expo seeks to provide a platform for discussions on Cooperatives, Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, trade and revenue.

It is one of the key events lined up to amplify the theme for this year's Madaraka Day celebrations.

At the same time, Ruto used the visit to lay a foundation stone for the new market and for a housing project.
