Proper auditing key to secure public funds - Kidero on Kemsa scam

Says it's important to ensure public systems are not easily corrupted by individuals

Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has called for accountability and proper automation of public system to curb corruption.

Speaking at K24 TV, Wednesday, Kidero said it is important to ensure public systems are not easily corrupted by individuals.

"Accountability, proper audit and automation of our system and processes is important," Kidero said.

Kidero spoke in regards to the Sh3.7 billion mosquito nets scandal at Kemsa where President William Ruto sacked Health PS Josephine Mburu, Kemsa board, and chairman Daniel Rono.

At the same time, Ruto appointed Irungu Nyakera as the chairperson of the board.

Health CS Susan Wafula on her part reconstituted the board and appointed new members.

The new members include Hezborn Oyieko Omollo, Bernard Kipkirui Better, Jane Masiga and Jane Nyagaturi Mbatia.
