Azimio leader Raila Odinga will on Friday address a major rally in Kibra upon return to the country.
Opposition leaders and supporters have been mobilised to give the ODM boss who has been out of the country for one week a heroic welcome even as the opposition gears up for the return of mass action next week.
Raila has been in Dubai for the past week.
National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi said Azimio will unleash the opposition’s scheduled activities for next month during the Kibra rally.
“As a party, we are gearing to accord him a grand welcome on arrival at the JKIA, then join him in a grand procession to the people’s Baraza at the Kamkunji Grounds, Kibra Constituency, on the same day. The Rt. Hon. Odinga will address the nation at the said meeting,” the Ugunja town MP said on Wednesday.
“We appeal to all supporters of our quest for a just, fair and democratic nation that prioritizes its citizens, to turn up in large numbers and welcome Rt. Hon Odinga home and attend the Kibra rally. We further appeal to everyone attending the twin events to maintain peace and order as we have done in the past. ”
