The Registrar of political parties has dealt the Kenya Kwanza a big blow after the office gave Pokot South MP David Pkosing a greenlight to continue sitting in the bipartisan talks team.

In a letter addressed to the National Assembly leader of the Minority Party Opiyo Wandayi, the Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu said the Kenya Union Party is not a member of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition.

President William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza camp had raised concerns that Pkosing should not sit in the dialogue team to represent Azimio camp arguing that he belongs to the government side.

However, the letter dated April 25 has jolted Kenya Kwanza with Pkosing, who is a member of the Kenya Union Party, set to sit in for Azimio in the bipartisan team.

''The office has no official record of any coalition agreement between the Kenya Union Party and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance," the letter reads in part.

Wandayi had written to the registrar of parties inquiring if the Kenya Union Party has a coalition agreement with Kenya kwanza.

Kenya kwanza had asked that Pkosing be pulled our of the bipartisan talks ostensibly because he is a member of a party that has coalition agreement with Kenya Kwanza.

On the other hand, Raila Odinga's Azimio had asked that Eldas MP Aden Keynan be excluded from the team arguing that he is a member of the Jubilee party, which is a member of the Azimio coalition.

Unless consensus is built, the Azimio team may press on with its push to have Keynan kicked out with Raila's camp expected to affirm that Pkosing is rightly in the talks on behalf of Azimio.
