Ruto appoints former MP to chair sugar company

He will serve for three years

President William Ruto has made three new appointments in the latest government changes. 

Through a gazette notice dated April 14, Ruto appointed former Awendo MP Jared Odhiambo Opiyo to chair the Board of Directors of South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited. 

"The appointment is for three years," he said. 

John Nyambok has also been appointed to chair the board of Directors for Chemelil Sugar Company Limited.

Nyambok will also serve in the capacity for three years effective today. 

Another notable appointment is that of Vice President of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) Eric Rutto. 

Rutto will now chair the board of Director of Trustees of Water Sector Trust Fund. 

"Rutto will serve for three years, effective April 14," he said. 

However, the appointment of Bill Lay has been revoked.
