Investments, Trade  CS Moses Kuria has left stakeholders gathering at the Connected Summit in stitches after he narrated how he became a tech developer.

Kuria said as a business analyst at the time, he developed an interest in coding and would try it from time to time.

"The way you would be left with your father's toys and you start playing with them, the head developer had gone home and left me with the system. I tried to code," he narrated.

Kuria said, the developer, by the name Beryl Atieno warned her and said, "If you want to sleep in the office, shauri yako!"

He went on to say that he tried to find the formula for his code that could be complete but he couldn't until it was late.

"It was late, and of course, at the beginning of our careers, we didn't have cars. I went and took a matatu and went home," he said.

While the stakeholders were laughing, Kuria said he all of a sudden, while in the matatu, developed a formula and immediately alighted and went back to the office to proceed with his code.

"I got it right and Beryl was amazed the following day. I am actually a tech enthusiast."

The CS also revealed that he used to sell technology for several companies including those in America and Dubai.

"Many years ago, when I joined the banking industry, I specialized in management technology through business processes. I had an interesting career in that sector."

He also said his biggest win while in the tech industry was when he sold systems to the biggest Indian company.

"Somebody actually asked me how I am selling milk to cows. That's my biggest win and it's still in my CV," he added.
