Members of Parliament from the Western region have joined forces, to condemn the planned demonstrations by Azimio la Umoja.

The members were led by Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai) Didmus Barasa (Kimilili) Malulu Injendi (Malava) and Martin Wanyonyi (Webuye East).

Others were Trans Nzoia Woman rep Lilian Chebet, Clement Sloya (Sabatia), John Waluke ( Sirisia) Omboko Milemba (Emuhaya), Charles Gimose (Hamisi) and John Makali (Kanduyi)

Barasa said the demonstrations are sabotaging the economy.

“Raila is not above the law and he should be treated like any other criminal and President William Ruto should deal with him decisively,” Barasa said.

Injendi congratulated Kakamega residents for ignoring the calls for demonstrations.

Malulu said it was a wise decision for the residents to proceed with their activities.

“Those demonstrations have cost even the life of an innocent student from Maseno University. I want to tell the people of Kakamega to ignore those protests and keep doing their business,” Malulu said.

Kalasinga faulted Raila for the protests.

He said the planned Monday and Thursday protests should be stopped.

“He tried and he has failed the test because as you can see those demos were not peaceful,” Kalasinga said.
