An elderly German national was found murdered in his home in Kajiado West’s Olodokilani Location.

The body of Wilko Milicinovic, 80, was found in a pool of blood on Tuesday by his worker, police said.

The body had been tied to his bed. His left eye was gouged out and had deep cuts on his head.

Police said the killers ransacked his house and stole his laptop.

The deceased lived alone and was assisted by a worker who reports to work at 8 am and leaves by 5 pm.

His son and daughter-in-law live in a separate house within the same compound.

The employee, Ndetia Matambashi, first discovered blood stains on the doorsteps of the foreigner on Tuesday, March 14, before she alerted the deceased’s daughter-in-law, Mary Nyambura.

Upon rushing to the father-in-law’s home at 10 am, accompanied by police officers, Nyambura discovered the old man had been killed.

Police suspect that Wilko was attacked on Monday night, March 13.

Police said unknown people entered his house by breaking the backdoor and, thereafter, killed Wilko.

In the living room, there were several blood stains, indicating Wilko might have struggled to free himself from his killers.

The body was taken to Kajiado County Referral Hospital morgue as investigations continue.

No arrests have been made so far.

National police spokesperson Dr Resila Onyango said they are yet to establish the motive of the incident.

Kajiado Central Sub County police commander Daudi Loronyokwe said the visible footsteps at the home point out the murder was committed by a gang of unknown people.

"The deceased is well known by locals and his neighbors. All preliminary investigations point to a cruel murder.”

The police commander says investigations into the incident have been launched.

"A security multi-agency team have launched investigations into the incident to get to the root cause of the bizarre murder. So far no suspect has been arrested," he said.

A team from the German embassy in Nairobi visited the scene on Wednesday as part of the probe into the incident.

Officials from the homicide unit were also dispatched to the scene to back those on the ground.
