Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has dared the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to also boycott taking his retirement packages after calls for mass action against the Kenya kwanza government.

Through his Twitter handle on Thursday, Cherargei urged Azimio leaders to also boycott taking their just as they have been planning for mass actions across the country.

“Can the Azimio-Oka MPs, MCAs, governors and senators boycott taking salaries plus Tinga boycott taking retirement benefits?” Cherargei said.

“Mass action of Tinga and his company is hot air.”

He questioned why Raila and his Azmio team are benefiting from the government yet they claim that it was voted in illegally.

“Since Tinga and co have insisted that the government in office is illegal then why should they benefit from the same government,” he said.

“Tinga is buying time for negotiations of handshake which His Excellency Ruto said shall not happen.”

This comes after Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga on Thursday, declared the start of mass action against the Kenya Kwanza regime.

In a hard-hitting statement delivered at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation, Raila said they have invoked the provisions of the Constitution to launch a massive peaceful movement of defiance against an 'illegal government'.

"Take note that on March 20, 2023, we have a date with destiny in Nairobi. On that day our supporters throughout the country shall stage a massive procession in Nairobi for a legitimate and inclusive government. Save the date," Raila said.

"We begin telling Ruto and Gachagua that we can’t keep living on false promises. We begin telling Ruto and Gachagua our clear understanding that when we keep taking painkillers long enough, they will cease killing the pain; and that is when the real pain will begin."

Azimio's 14-day ultimatum for the Kenya Kwanza government to lower the cost of living and open IEBC servers lapsed on Wednesday at midnight.

Raila said that even after the government was given time to act on the issues raised on February 22, at Jevanjee Gardens, nothing has been done.
