Hundreds of youth have today turned out for Kenya Forest service recruitment in various parts of the country.
The nationwide exercise is happening across the designated centres in all 47 counties.
KFS has said it seeks to recruit at least 1,900 forest rangers in the exercise.
The exercise which began at 8 am will end at 6 pm with the agency saying it is "currently ongoing smoothly".
"Recruitment is free and fair to all eligible candidates. Individuals wanting to be recruited are advised NOT to give money to anyone promising them placement," it said in a statement.
The recruitment of the rangers is in line with President William Ruto’s agenda of attaining a 30 per cent forest cover by 2032.
Also to be recruited are 40 forest assistants and 260 foresters.
Speaking during the Mashujaa Day celebrations last year, Ruto directed KFS to recruit 2,700 forest rangers and 600 forest officers to help in the realisation of his dream of planting 15 billion trees in the next five years.
