The theme of this year's Madaraka Day Celebrations will be Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
This is according to Interior Principal Secretary Dr Raymond Omollo.
The PS said that this year's celebrations will be held at the Moi Stadium in Embu County, in a bid to improve and spur economic growth.
The PS made clarifications on the celebrations' venue, which was not initially Moi stadium but Njukiri Grounds still in Embu county.
"The celebrations will no longer be held at Njukiri Grounds for reasons related to time and cost," he said.
The PS was at a physical tour of the Moi Stadium on Tuesday.
It was organised by the National Celebrations Committee, which he chairs.
