Mwingi top pupil fails to join Form One for lack of fees

His mother pleaded with well-wishers to help her take him to school.

Samuel Kikombo, a 15-year-old pupil, who was the top student in the 2022 KCPE exam at Kakululo Primary School in Mwingi West is yet to join Form One.

Samuel scored 367 marks in his KCPE, emerging as the best pupil in his school.

He is expected to join St John Tala Secondary school in Machakos but his parents are unable to raise the required school fees.

 
 

He pleaded with well-wishers to help him report to school as his mother is unable to raise the funds.

Lucia Masaa, his mother, said he was scheduled to report to school on February 6, but she had no money to take him to school.

"I only do manual jobs and currently, I am jobless due to tough economic times, " she said.

She added that she has managed to borrow only Sh7,000 shillings from well-wishers and has a deficit of Sh10,000.

Masaa has pleaded with well-wishers to help her take her son to school.
