Sick man pleads for justice after wife, son's death

A man in Mwingi West, Kitui is pleading for justice after his son and wife were hacked to death.

Brian Musyoka was hacked to death on December 21, exactly two months after his mother was also hacked to death.

He was at his father's farm.

He was buried on Wednesday. His father Patrick Ndana attended the burial in a wheelchair accompanied by his doctors.

Ndana had been receiving treatment in a city hospital for two years.

From his bed, as the burial was ongoing, Ndana, who occasionally shed tears in the middle of the interview, said his heart had been torn apart.

"Why are they finishing my family? My only son was 18 years. He was butchered two months after his mother," he said.

Ndana said the world had come crumbling down on him, saying he had suffered a big blow of being sick for over two years, and now two of his family members have been killed.

He also said one of his three daughters was knocked down by a motorbike on her way home and is currently admitted to hospital.

"My home has not known peace from October 1 since my wife was killed, and two months on, my son was also killed," he said.

He pleaded for fair justice.

Kakululo assistant chief Simeon Kavive, who was also in attendance, confirmed that three suspects had been arrested following the murder.

"I urge members of the public to be calm as the matter is under investigation," he said 

"Security has been beefed up."
