Uhuru, Raila pitch tents in Coast

A few days after ODM leader Raila Odinga landed in Mombasa for a series of activities, photos of former President Uhuru Kenyatta in the Coastal city have emerged.

In the photos, Uhuru is pictured signing what appears to be a visitors' book at The Moorings restaurant located in Mtwapa.

He is also seen posing for a group photo with the staff from the hotel clad in a white polo shirt with dark glasses on his head.

“It was a great honour hosting the fourth president of the republic of Kenya,” read a post shared on the restaurant's official social media handle.

From the post, Uhuru was at the restaurant on Saturday.

Raila landed in Mombasa on January 6 and was received by Governor Abdulswamad Nassir.

"Welcome to Mombasa Baba. I welcomed my party leader at Moi International Airport ahead of his visit for the next few days," the governor twitted.

The ODM leader chaired a meeting of delegates drawn from all wings of ODM in the county including women and youth leagues the same day.

While it remains unclear if the two political friends met during their tour to the region, sources confirmed that they held talks.

On Sunday, Raila even dismissed claims that there was a split in the Azimio coalition.

“There is no power struggle in Azimio. Everything is done as per the plan. He (Uhuru) is in Azimio to stay, he is a member and part and parcel of Azimio leadership,” Raila said Sunday.
