Kitale man surrenders to police after killing another one in fight

A man surrendered to a police station while armed with a kitchen knife, saying he had killed an intruder to his house in Sirende, Kitale Township.

Police said a suspect namely Brian Simiyu Watuka, 23, walked to Simatwet police patrol base, with a blood-stained kitchen knife and blood-stained clothes, alleging to have murdered an unknown male adult within Kaptain village in Sirende.

The suspect directed the officers to the scene, where they found the body of an unknown male adult, with a deep out on the neck.

He claimed the victim had attacked him before stabbing him in self-defence.

He was later arrested and detained at the local police station.

The suspect was expected to be presented to the court on Monday pending a further probe into the incident.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

And two men died by suicide in Kiambu County in such increasing incidents.

The first incident was reported in Darasha area, Juja, where the body of Samuel Karanja Kuria aged 36 years old was found dangling from the roof rafters of his sitting room, with a rope tied around the neck.

In Thika Town, the body of an unknown male adult was found hanging on a tree.

The motives of the incidents are yet to be known.

Cases of suicide have been on the rise in the past few days.
