President William Ruto's Hustler Fund has reached another milestone with the amount disbursed having crossed the Sh10 billion mark.

Amount repaid has similarly hit Sh3 billion in the latest data released by Cooperatives and MSME Development Cabinet secretary Simon Chelugui.

By 9pm Tuesday, Sh10,121,879,415 had been disbursed translating to 30 per cent of the total amount.

Borrowers have also saved Sh506 million since the fund was launched exactly three weeks ago, from some 17 million transactions recorded so far.

The number of Kenyans who have borrowed from the fund dubbed Financial Inclusion Initiative has also crossed three million.

So far, some 17 million Kenyans have registered for the fund.

CS Chelugui has assured Kenyans that another product with a bigger portfolio will be launched in February.

Through the micro business, SME and Startups, Kenyans will be able to access cheap loans ranging from Sh100,000 and Sh2.5 million.

The second product of microloans will be unveiled in February by the President and will target groups, chamas and cooperatives.
