Opposition chief Raila Odinga has claimed, without providing evidence, that he won the August 9 general election.

President William Ruto was declared the winner of the contested poll, but Raila who challenged the outcome at the Supreme court, lost the petition.

"I have been around with you for long. Millions of you voted for me in the last election. We won that election, the truth will come out, I know that," he said.

"Millions of you call me Baba."

Raila also alleged that the Judiciary has been captured by the executive.

"The criminal justice system is collapsing. That is why cases are rapidly being dropped, criminals are being celebrated and turned into prosecution witnesses," he said.

Raila also claimed that Ruto is planning an early rigging plot of the 2027 election.

His comments come after Ruto suspended the four dissenting IEBC commissioners led by vice chair Juliana Cherera.

In a gazette notice on Friday, the President said their suspension was effective immediately.

The other commissioners are Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi and Irene Masit.

According to Raila, the new formula for appointing the electoral body's commissioners by Parliament on Thursday is not about integrity.

"The events in Parliament yesterday, on the formula of appointing IEBC commissioners and the hounding of the four commissioners has got nothing to do with integrity, but about 2027," he said.

"Ruto wants to rig 2027 election in 2022. We should not allow this to happen.”
