Azimio leader Raila Odinga has vowed to bring the Kenya Kwanza system down saying President William Ruto is threatening the country's democracy.
The opposition leader declared that the coalition will kick-off anti-Ruto rallies on December 7 following the suspension of the IEBC Four.
The opposition chief said the rallies will pile pressure on Ruto to rescind his decision to dismiss embattled four electoral commissioners.
"We will return to the same venue for more consultations and pray for the democracy of our country which is under threat. We will bring this system down. Let us all stand up for our country before its too late," he said.
Ruto Friday suspended the embattled IEBC Commissioner led by vice chair Juliana Cherera.
In a gazette notice on Friday, the President said their suspension was effective immediately.
The other commissioners are Justus Nyang’aya, Francis Wanderi and Irine Masit.
Raila said December 7 will mark the start of a series of consultations on the state of the nation following the ouster of the commissioners.
"We want to ask Kenyans if they are happy with the way things are happening," he stated.
The Azimio leader said the first rally will be held at Kamkunji Grounds in Nairobi.
He said the second rally will be held at the same venue on December 12.
This is the day Ruto is expected to lead the country in the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Raila made the announcement on Friday when he met Opposition leaders and supporters drawn from Nairobi.
He said Kenya was heading back to the 1980s and urged Kenyans to stand up against what he termed as a dangerous threat to democracy.
"We have to stop the return to one man rule. I have witnessed dictatorships emerge,"Raila said.
"The planned removal of four IEBC commissioners is not about the 2022 elections but the 2027 polls."
He claimed the Kenya Kwanza is already plotting how it will rig the 2027 elections.
Embakasi East MP Babu owino said as the opposition, they will never relent in keeping the government in check.
"We are on very familiar grounds we have 13 seats in Nairobi and if we paralyse the city, nothing will move in the country," he said.
Babu accused Ruto of persecuting IEBC commissioners who rejected the August 9 presidential results.
"Ruto says he is Godly man yet what hr is doing is totally the opposite.His ways are not good at all. You are the president, what do you want from small people?" he posed
"Instead of organising the country, you're very busy antagonising it."
