Former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has said President William Ruto will break former president Kibaki's record if he is supported.

Speaking on Monday to the media, Ngunjiri added that if Ruto is given enough support, he will exceed what Kibaki did during his tenure.

"Mkikubali tumshike mkono pamoja tusaidiane, atavunja recodi ya Kibaki (If you agree to hold his hand and help him, he will break Kibaki's record) ," he stated.

Ngunjiri added that the head of state is a God-fearing man, and he also respects the Constitution of Kenya.

"President Ruto ni mtu anaogopa Mungu na anapea Katiba ya nchi yetu heshima (President Ruto is a man who fears God and respects the our Constitution)," Ngunjiri said.

He pointed out that Ruto has projects similar to those of Kibaki and that had Kibaki been younger and healthier, he would have achieved more.

Ngunjiri noted that Ruto is young and thus still energetic and will therefore be able to do more than what the former president did during his tenure.

The lawmaker went ahead to thank the head of state for his appointments which he described as good.

He reminded the elected ministers that their duties lie with Kenyans at large and not regional areas.

The late President left behind a legacy of infrastructural development which included the rehabilitation of poor road networks, the upgrading of slums and access to basic financial services in the country.
